Wave Flow

Moncton City Hall

The fountain Waveflow (2004) is a long (50 ft) ribbon of stainless steel set into a shallow basin of granite and concrete, surrounded by jets of water. The ribbon is abstractly curved to suggest the flowing lines of a wave, and water flows over a small spillway. Enlarged botanical images specific to the local region are etched into the stainless steel. The large sculpture is accompanied by a life size cast bronze deer. The deer approaches the sculptural wave and fountain with an expression of curiosity.
